Every cost, in view
Relocation Budget & Cost Tracking
Put a cost on any record in the plan (one-time or recurring, in the client's currency), and Plarelo rolls it into a first-year budget with planned-versus-actual by category.
A symbolic demo. In the app, amounts live on the actual plan records and roll up here automatically.
The problem
A move's expenses are hard to keep on top of
The number that matters, what this move really costs in the first year, is scattered across the plan, split between upfront and ongoing, and often in the wrong currency.
The real cost hides in a dozen line items
Deposit here, visa fees there, shipping, schooling, a year of rent. Each expense is knowable on its own, but nobody is holding the running total.
Upfront and ongoing costs get lumped together
A €6,000 deposit and €1,800 a month are very different commitments. Lumped together, neither the cash-at-hand nor the first-year figure is clear.
Budgets live in a separate spreadsheet
A sheet off to the side drifts from the plan the moment a decision changes, and no one is sure which number is current.
Costs come in more than one currency
Quotes come in the destination currency; the client thinks in their own. Without one consistent view, the total is a guess.
How Plarelo solves it
The budget is part of the plan, not a spreadsheet beside it
Cost the records you already track, and the totals keep themselves.
Put an amount on any record
Put an amount on any decision, paperwork item, task, or visit, marked one-time, per month, or per year. Plarelo separates the upfront total from the first-year recurring, adds them into a first-year figure, and shows a monthly estimate, all in the client’s currency.
Catch a category before it goes over budget
Set a planned budget per category and Plarelo tracks actual against it on a bar for each, turning red the moment a category runs over. The overrun that used to surface at the end shows up while there is still room to adjust.
Questions, answered
How do costs get into the budget?
You put an amount on any record in the plan (a decision, a paperwork item, a task, or a visit), marked one-time, per month, or per year. Plarelo rolls every amount into the budget automatically; there is no separate sheet to maintain.
What is the difference between upfront and first-year recurring?
One-time costs (a deposit, visa fees, movers) are the upfront total. Recurring costs are annualised for the first year, monthly amounts times twelve and yearly amounts once, and the first-year total combines the two, with a monthly estimate alongside.
Can I compare against a planned budget?
Yes. Set a planned budget per category and Plarelo shows actual against planned on a bar for each one, turning the bar red when a category goes over, so overruns surface early, not at the end.
Does it handle the client’s currency?
The whole budget shows in the project’s preferred currency, so consultant and client read the same figures whichever corridor the move runs.
